Christopher Nolan took cues from "Star Wars" when he crafted the opening of "The Odyssey." The epic new film in the director's filmography opens with the words "A time of apparent magic" which was born out of a hook the director found in "Star Wars.

In a new interview, which just so happens to be with fellow master filmmaker Park Chan-wook, Nolan answers both those questions. He’s asked about the phrase, the word “apparent,” and reveals the idea came from a little-known film called—checks notes— Star Wars.

Christopher Nolan has praised Park Chan-Wook’s No Other Choice, highlighting the impact of its Korean setting. The film has an unusual backstory, as Park spent years developing the adaptation with plans to make it as an American film.

In “The Odyssey,” Aït Benhaddou serves as part of ancient Troy at the end of the Trojan War. The UNESCO World Heritage Site remains open to visitors and is a roughly 30-minute drive from Ouarzazate. Marrakech, a popular tourist destination, is roughly 110 miles from Aït Benhaddou.

Brand New Day” continued its blistering pace in theaters, collecting $144.5 million domestically over its second weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, while Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” set a new high for the director.
