President Donald Trump said the US-led Board of Peace had reached an agreement for Hamas to disarm, though questions remained about the extent of the accord and officials suggested it would not be implemented immediately.

Hamas confirmed it would begin disarmament, but said it was contingent on Israel halting all attacks in Gaza and fulfilling provisions of the first phase of a ceasefire deal signed in 2025.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he believes the prospects for a partial ceasefire and hostage-release deal with Hamas are no longer possible.
