The high-ranking FIFA executive who accused embattled president Gianni Infantino of having “deceived” the organisation over his infamous plot to sell off a stake in the World Cup has paid the ultimate price.

In a statement to The Associated Press last month, Lamour invited the possibility of losing his job while saying that staff were 'deceived' by Infantino's push to send through the proposal, and calling it 'the project of one person.
