In a statement to the Associated Press last month, Lamour invited the possibility of losing his job while saying that staff were 'deceived' by Infantino's push to send through the proposal, and calling it 'the project of one person.

Infantino is fighting to stay in his job following huge backlash to his intention to sell a minority stake in FIFA tournaments to private investors.
