New teams of crisis intervention and community violence prevention workers will soon roam portions of the CTA’s Red, Blue and Green rail lines.

The Chicago Transit Authority board on Wednesday approved a $10 million, yearlong Crisis Intervention Safe Ride Specialist Pilot program designed to complement the recent boost in security and police on trains and buses.
Police used the incident to remind locals not to chase after an offender if spotted.
Commuters can expected mayor delays while riding CTA Yellow Line trains on Tuesday morning. The CTA said Yellow Line trains are standing at Howard due to signal problems. Delays are also impacting the Red and Purple lines.
The Frequent Network provides bus service every 10 minutes or less. The new routes include the No. 35 31st/35th, No. 74 Fullerton, No. 85 Central and No. 8 Halsted routes.
